Room 3
In this central room the historical museum is evocated. At the entrance visitors meet the skeleton of Cesare Lombroso, displayed according to his wish, as expressed in his will.
Next to the skeleton, the room presents a review of exhibits which represent the different collections (human remains, death masks, bodies of proof, objects created in prisons and mental hospitals) Hundreds of objects are exhibited in period showcases and large portraits of criminals adorne the walls. The curious pieces of furniture created by Eugenio Lenzi, inmate of the Lucca mental hospital, stand out.
