A man diagnosed with schizophrenia at San Lazzaro psychiatric hospital in Reggio Emilia (North of Italy) photographed by Giovanni Morini, a patient from the same mental hospital. Institutionalized in 1867 Giovanni Morini, as part of a rehabilitation program, worked as an assistant to Emilio Poli the hospital’s photographer. After Poli’s death in 1899, he took his position.
549 Morini’s portraits are kept in San Lazzaro hospital’s archive, whilst 12 are preserved in the collection of the Lombroso Museum.
